At Jackson Sage we believe that it is important for companies and individuals to give back to their community. Jackson Sage makes product and monetary donations to local animal and charitable organizations.
Jackson Sage is committed to high quality, natural, and organic ingredients. through the use food grade oils, and herbs. We focus on obtaining organically grown and fair trade ingredients.
Our packaging is safe to recycle and reuse. Our boxes are made from 80% post consumer waste. We also offer an recycle program.
Are your products "Organic"? TOP
Yes we use as much organic oils and herbs as possible. We do not use "Organic" with a capital letter since we do not have a USDA rating.
If knowing the source of our raw materials in important to you, please contact me and I will be happy share this with you. We try to buy from companies that have the USDA Organic Certification or other forms of organic certifications.

Are your products Vegan Friendly? TOP
95% of our products are Vegan Friendly and unless otherwise noted you can assume that the product is Vegan Friendly.

What about packaging? TOP
When it comes to packaging we attempt to use recyclable materials and safe materials.
We are switching over to as much glass as possible. This avoids the dangers of toxins in plastic and allows for easier recycling and reusing.
The tops of most of the products are aluminum and can be recycled.
Currently plastic is used for the dog mist, and Bath Salts. The bath salts are in #1PETE and is considered safe and recyclable. Please reuse or recycle.
We feel the Doggie Sage Conditioning Mist should remain in plastic due to the fact that it safer to use while handling a dog. The Doggie Mist is #2 plastic and is considered safe for one use. #2 is easy to recycle.
The kraft boxes we use are from 100% recycled material with 80% being post consumer.
The brown shred we use is made from 75% Post Industrial Recycled Fibers. Our suggestion is save it to return your products for our recycle program. Or reuse it in gift bags or boxes, recycle it or add it to your garden to decompose.
Don't forget about our recycle program. Save the shred, shipping box and return clean empty bottles for a refill saving on waste and money!

* Scents: We use natural scents that do fade with time due to the evaporation of the essential oils and hydrosols.
Why is the shelf life shorter than other brands? TOP
We produce everything by hand and use natural ingredients. We use a VERY small amount of preservatives in a few of our products (such as the creams).
We do not add extra chemicals to create a long shelf life . Also most large scale companies use mineral oil since it last forever and is cheap. Mineral oil does not contain anything that actually benefits your skin.
We use high grade oils that nourish your skin and sell our items in small quantities in order to bring you the highest quality natural ingredients. That is why we make each item in small batches fresh each week.
Do you test on animals? TOP
If you consider humans as animals, then yes. If you mean on animals other than humans, then no.
Jackson Sage does NOT test on animals.
I do however test everything on myself, family, and friends. All humans involved with the testing do so voluntarily and are usually compensated with free soap, skin care, food and drinks. It is a win win for everyone.
Our Doggie Sage line is tested on humans first. First, all products are tested for pH. Once the pH is safe, then we test on humans. If there is no skin irritation, then we proceed to the trail run with our dogs. The trail run consists of giving one of our four dogs a bath. We do this for two reasons. First, our dogs need the occasional bath anyway. Second, I would not feel comfortable selling a dog product that had never been used on dogs.
